Policies and Procedures

Meet And Greet:​

  • Before any service is conducted a general meet and greet will need to be organized. It is important to establish rapport with one another to ensure optimal pet care.

  • Meet and greets last up to 30 mins. Service is free of charge.

  • This meeting is to ensure appropriate information on home access and typical routines for pet care service being provided.

  • Keys and forms of entry will be needed at this time or must be available on first service day. Additional keypad codes will be obtained via email, text or another form of documentation.

  • All access information will be provided on client account as well to provide best pet care service. Either the client or Arizona Active Paws representative will update any new information provided. This enables easier communication and seamless customer satisfaction.

Services Provided:

  • All services provided will be will be documented and logged through your online account created to enable GPS tracking , Pet Reports, and database for customer information.

  • Customer account will allow online booking from both desktop or mobile device.

  • Walking schedules are spaced in 4 hour time blocks. This is to ensure safe travel time and quality service. If there is a specific time you would prefer within those blocks please make a note in notes section when requesting a time.

  • All services requested will need approval before officially being set. Once request is approved you will be notified via email and the service be visible on your calendar.

  • Every service will require a check in notification to inform the owner we have arrived at your home and will be with your animal. Walking services will have GPS tracking feature applied so when the walk has commenced you will receive a pet report and map of walk tracked along with photo of pup in action.

  • Prices for pet services for walks will be listed accordingly. Invoices will be disbursed the day of service. Allowing owner to pay at will or within invoice due date at the end of each service day.

  • Invoices for pet sitting or visits will also be disbursed same day as service. These due dates will differ for pet sitting.

Deposits/Refunds/Cancellations OH MY!!!

  • Drop-in service / visits will be priced as listed on your customer account and will be a minimum of 1 visit throughout the day and a max of 3 visits per day. Up to customer discretion and every other day is also available. Communication is key.

  • Overnight stays or a period over 24 hours requires sitter to provide biological need services i.e. feeding, water, bathroom breaks, and loving on animals. Walks or services beyond sitter criteria will be of addition charge and schedule.

  • If sitter needs to buy necessary care products for animal includes but not limited; animal food, needed pet care clean up supplies, any needed pet care essential for animal well being and comfort. Customer is responsible for additional products purchased full reimbursement with receipt. As well an additional $10.00 transport fee.

  • Deposits for overnight stays will be required. 50% of total value of sit will be required up front to ensure your spot is reserved and that we can make sure no one else will impede on these dates. All invoices will show deposit applied to overall total.

  • Cancellations for dog walks will need to be within a 12 hour time period before date of service otherwise you will be billed for full service price. Hours of operation are 7am-9pm. You can and should send notification of cancellation either on your account or via phone/ email.

  • With the exception of death or other extenuating circumstances all Pet sits must be canceled within 72 hour period. If cancellation exceeds this window deposit will be retained and not credited. So please just keep lines of communication open and give ample time for cancellation. Our time is valuable and other pets are dependent on us and our service so please be respectful.

  • Holiday cancellations will be a time period of 5 days prior to service date. In the pet care industry holidays are a crucial time and we need as much advance notice as possible to ensure other families will have their needs met as well. If unable to meet 5 day requirement typical cancellation rules will apply. Holiday blocks will be apparent and known to all clients.

Payment Types:

  • Arizona Active Paws accepts automated systems such as paypal, ACH or other electronic transactions.

  • We accept cash transaction with a printable invoice

  • All checks must be made out to Arizona Active Paws LLC. and appropriate information provided in case of bounced accounts. Fees will be applied for any fraud or delinquencies.

  • Delinquent /past due accounts will have a 4 day grace period beyond that period. You will be charged with an extra $30.00 late fee for each day delinquent on top of current balance.

Medical/Critical EMERGENCIES:

  • Resources is the number one way to ensure optimal care for your animal in need. Providing up to date shots and veterinarian info is necessary. You can update this information on your customer account in addition provide all pet care providers with hard copy too.

  • In the event of immediate medical assistance we will readily contact owner first. Than contact veterinarian listed and if no response or it is out of business hours we will bring animal to nearest 24 hour pet hospital.

  • ALL vet bills will be taken care of by owner and an additional transport fee will be applied. Make sure that if you have a vet in mind to leave billing information with them in case of medical emergencies.

  • Arizona Active Paws sitters are pet CPR and First aid certified so we may provide care within our training and containing excess wounds to safely transport to more qualified clinicians.

Pets Safety and Weather Restrictions:

  • Animal safety is our number one priority in any scenario. We reside in an exceptionally hot area during the summer months. To ensure the health and well being of animals we will only have exposure to external environments for a short amount of time. So exercise will be conducted indoors or near a place with extreme water supply (e.g. A pool area or sprinkler type system).

  • We will remove animals from dangerous situations and harm at the safety of human life and protection as well.

  • NO animal will be subject to negligence or abuse under the care of Arizona Active Paws pet care provider/ association. If suspected abuse or negligence may appear owner will be notified immediately as well as appropriate officials. Any case of animal abuse needs to be documented and reported.

  • Any pet care provider will enable a safe environment for animal as we see biologically fit. I.e. if your a/c is off and it is 100 degrees outside we will have the authority to turn your a/c on within a range that is appropriate for dog comfort and survival.

Liability and Privacy:

  • ​Arizona Active Paws LLC. reserves the right to refuse service or cancel a service at any time. Not at the expense of animal care.

  • Arizona Active Paws is not liable for erratic animal behavior or otherwise normal behavior that might result in animal injury.

  • We are not responsible for unfenced yards and animal escapes. We will maintain sensible ways of keeping them contained but if animal has a tendency of escaping or running away please inform us so we are more diligent and may help secure safety.

  • Any external behavior such as aggressive actions either towards humans or other animals will not be tolerated. Owner will assume full responsibility for all medical and excess fees accounted for such incidents.

  • All pictures or videos obtained will be utilized unless otherwise permission is revoked.
